Prescriptions Dispensed   back to top

ARC Pharmacy is able to dispense both NHS and private prescriptions from an excellent range of medicines in stock. We are even able to dispense veterinary prescriptions. On the rare occasion when a medicine cannot be immediately dispensed, our pharmacists can obtain the correct medication on the same or next day.

ARC Pharmacy’s pharmacists will advise on how to take your medicine and will also tell you if there is anything you should avoid. Our fully trained pharmacists will also be able to identify whether medicines prescribed are compatible with any current medication. All medicines dispensed from ARC Pharmacy are clearly labeled with appropriate warnings. If you have trouble opening child resistant containers please inform our pharmacy staff who will be happy to provide alternative containers.

To save you time and money, ARC Pharmacy offers a free prescription collection and delivery service. We can collect your prescription from any surgery in Selby and have it dispensed ready at ARC Pharmacy for you to collect. For those of our customers who are unable to get to the pharmacy we offer a free delivery service*.

Repeat Prescription Service back to top

With your consent, ARC Pharmacy is able to re-order your repeat prescription using your repeat slip which will be securely stored at your selected branch of ARC Pharmacy. By letting ARC Pharmacy order and collect your repeat prescription, we take the hassle and you take your medicines home. Free home delivery can also be arranged*

Our pharmacists are always happy to give you advice on treating common ailments and stock a wide range of competitively priced medicines for their treatment. We can also make-up products especially for you.

ARC Pharmacy is famous in Selby for its SPECIAL BRONCHIAL MIXTURE used for the treatment of coughs and colds. This is one of our best sellers, so why not give it a try next time you are suffering from a cold or chesty cough.

As well as stocking a variety of medical products we also sell vitamins and a wide range of toiletries.

Medicines Use Review back to top

ARC Pharmacy is pleased to offer customers a Medicines Use Review (MUR). The MUR is a confidential discussion with your pharmacist which aims to help you get the most out of your medication. During the consultation you will be able to find out more about the medication you are taking, discuss any problems and make sure your medicines are right for you. Pregnancy Testing back to top

Staff at ARC Pharmacy can carry out a pregnancy test for you in-store. All that is required is a small sample of urine taken first thing in the morning. The test will take a few minutes and a member of staff will discreetly inform you of the result.

Home pregnancy testing kits are also available to purchase if you would prefer to take the test at home.

ARC Pharmacy can supply a wide range of ostomy and incontinence products, including colostomy, urostomy and urinary products as well as pads, pants, mattress covers etc. Our pharmacists can give discreet advice on the products most suitable for your needs. In the event that we do not have a particular product in stock we will be able to obtain it within 24 hours. If any of our customers is housebound we can arrange for products to be delivered free of charge.

We stock a good range of walking sticks and can also supply wheelchair accessories and walkers. We also offer a comprehensive range of products to make life easier around the home, such as bathing aids, commodes and kitchen aids.

ARC Pharmacy can also supply everything for your medical needs at home, such as blood pressure monitors, nebulisers and diabetic meters.

We have access to a complete range of aids and our pharmacists will be happy to advise you on the items most suitable for you needs.

It is dangerous and unwise to keep hold of unwanted medicines in the home. Please return all unused and unwanted medicines to us at ARC Pharmacy so that we can dispose of them safely.

ARC Pharmacy sells competitively priced First Aid kits suitable for the home or travel. You can also purchase individual items to restock existing first aid kits, such as plasters, bandages etc.

Travel Health Advice back to top

If you are traveling abroad our pharmacists can advise you on which vaccinations and anti-malarials you may need before you travel. We also stock products for the treatment of travel sickness, diarrhoea and sunburn as well as flight socks and insect repellent.

Urgent Prescriptions back to top

ARC Pharmacy is a member of the Selby ROTA scheme, whereby pharmacies in the area take it in turn to open for the dispensing of emergency scripts on Sundays and Bank Holidays. As part of this scheme ARC Pharmacy will be open on Sunday and Bank Holidays between 1.00pm and 2.00pm in rotation with other participating pharmacies in the area. Details of Sunday/Bank Holiday rota opening arrangements are displayed in the shop and are published in the local press.

If you have an emergency prescription that needs to be dispensed outside normal hours telephone the Police who will arrange for a pharmacist to be called out. This is organised by your Health Authority. Or contact NHS Direct on – Tel: 0845 4647.
